Explore African mammal species from elephants to hippos, African buffaloes and more. On this 3 days’ safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited National park. The park was gazetted in 1952 and later renamed Queen Elizabeth after the visit of Her majesty the Queen of England 1954. An abundance wildlife thrives in its diverse 1,978 sq.km ecosystem. Characterized with sprawling savanna plains, sparkling volcanic crater filled lakes, thickets, tropical forests and swamps. The park’s center-piece is the Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. There are over 600 bird species including the shoebill stork and 98 mammal species including the tree climbing lions. A highlight of game viewing will be to take boat cruise on the channel.
DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: DRIVE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Pick up from your guest house in Entebbe and drive along the Mityana-Mubende-Kyenjojo-Fortportal-Kasese route. The drive is about 8 hours so we recommend that you plan your departure times as early as 7:00am. Then, you will have enough time for short breaks and create some time for an evening game drive.
The park is blessed with several tracks with a rich abundant wildlife. While on a game drive, on a lucky day, you may be able to find several families of African Elephants, pride of lions. Spotting a leopard is always an advantage. Hot lunch will be served en-route, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 2: GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL
After breakfast, you take on a game drive looking for wildlife. Queen Elizabeth National Park is second largest and oldest national park with over 600 bird species and with over 90 species of mammals which make it ideal for game viewing in Uganda.
This park has a big number of Ugandan kobs among other antelopes which sustain good numbers of predators such as lions, leopards and spotted hyenas. After your morning game drive, head back to the lodge for a hot lunch. Later in the afternoon, take a scheduled boat cruise to the Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel is famous for harboring the highest population of hippos on the African continent. Other wildlife safaris can be sighted here including the African elephant, the cape buffalo, water bucks and reptiles like the Nile crocodile. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge in Kasenyi sector.

DAY 3: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK TO ENTEBBE
After breakfast, we depart from queen Elizabeth national park to Entebbe International airport for your out bound flight. This journey is about 7/8 hours with several stopovers for leg stretches. However, if you have enough time, we have an extension of day and you track chimpanzees in either Kyambura gorge or Kalinzu which are part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
